Better Beer Society is now hiring!

We are a rapidly growing Twin Cities based organization dedicated to the growth and awareness of beer through education, helping our partners achieve best practices in beer sales and service through our professional certification course and range of expert services.

Our programs include an intensive beer education program for restaurants, bars and taprooms, a comprehensive draft partnership program, as well as an expert sampling division based on quality assurance and knowledge offering breweries support in the marketplace through samplings at liquor stores, special events, and festivals.

We are currently seeking individuals for the following positions:

• Draft Quality Apprentice

We are currently seeking new applicants for our Draft Quality Apprenticeship Program in the following markets:

– Minneapolis / St. Paul
– Duluth
– St. Cloud

This is an entry-level position into our “Brewer Approved” Draft Partnership program, which is setting a new standard for draft quality in Minnesota. This unique program includes (but is not limited to) a comprehensive draft maintenance program, FOH staff education, quality control monitoring and reporting, draft system repairs, custom design, installation, and much more.
Former draft tech experience is acceptable, but not necessary. We will train the right candidates to our standards. In fact, what is more important to us is that you meet the following requirements and/or share the same philosophies:

– You are a sincere human being, love life, and take great pride in your work.

– You are genuine in your love for beer and want to see it shown in its best light.

– Not afraid of a dirty job (sometimes cold and wet conditions).

– Mechanically inclined (Ikea does not count).

– Must be okay with off-hours (early mornings and overnights).

– Deep appreciation and respect for the brewers craft.

– Dedicated to a career in beer.

– 21+ years of age.

If selected, you will be part of a special team of like-minded individuals working towards improving upon the current standard for how beer is being handled in Minnesota. You will be assisting our lead techs with draft system inspections, custom draft system installations, as well as maintaining our existing list of bar, restaurant, and taproom partners across the metro.

This is a paid apprenticeship. Upon completion of the program, we will send the right individuals through the Micro Matic Dispense Institute in Rockford, IL to receive their certification. The quality of life in Minnesota (arts, culinary, bike culture) is among the best in the nation. We feel that our beer scene and beer programs should be reflective of this as well.
